We put up a great fight, but things didn’t go our way.
We all knew this would be a tough race when we started. We know that voter registration tilted in favor of our opponents.
But we ran a great race – all of us – and we have nothing to be sorry about.
We ran a race we all should be proud of.
I certainly am proud of you. And I am grateful to all of you for your hard work and your support.
This was an amazing election, and I would not have missed it for anything.
With each passing year, the Republicans in our area grow weaker and weaker. They know, just as we know, that our time is coming in this community.
You have sent a great message, and I am so glad I was a part of it.
You have given me a great gift: the gift of trust and support.
I would have loved to win. Who wouldn’t? But that was not in the cards.
Still, I have no regrets. We did our best.
I come away from this campaign with great pride and gratitude. And I come away from it knowing that the day is coming very soon when our communities will have a Democratic representative in Sacramento.

We need to energize them, keep them energized, and help instill the value of participating in our democracy - election year or not. To do this, I'm confident that if we build young leaders we will be able to multiply our efforts for years to come." Interested in politics? Want to join a campaign? Want to learn how government works? If so, we want you to be part of our team. More info: What? We've created four internship positions within our campaign, called "Youth Leadership Internships". This program will enable four young voters to get unprecedented experience and insights with a state-level campaign while also learning about his/her own community and our political process. Doing what? Doing what it takes to engage and energize young voters in our region for the upcoming election. This includes planning meetings, rallies, roundtable discussions, precinct walk days, phone calling, coordination, and meetings. With Who? Our interns will be working closely with an experienced Youth Coordinator. While this program will be focused on this campaign, it will also provide ample opportunity to work with other campaigns in the region. Who? Voters between the ages of 18 and 25. You should be energetic and capable of working with others. You should also have a desire to learn. You'll be doing a lot of it. When? September and October. 2 months. A few hours a week. Mostly on weekends. Where? At campaign offices in Temecula, Murrieta, Fallbrook, and/or Riverside. What are the requirements?
